I couldn't agree more. It just pisses Me off every time that I see people blaming race whenever things don't go their way. I mean sure, we as a country still have a ways to go with race relations but it seems like the people who SHOULD want these changes to happen seem to be the ones that are making it worse.

Obama isn't sorry that he said that the cop was stupid. He's sorry that the facts weren't there to back his predisposed idea that it was racially motivated. But by assuming the worst of the cop simply because he heard that the cop was white and that the man arrested was black, all he does is fuel racism. That is the very DEFINITION of racism right there: to assume the worst of somebody just because of the color of their skin. If you don't call what Obama did and what this professor did, racist, then what WOULD you call it?

Minorities see this incident and assume that it was because the guy was black (just like Obama did) and the cop was white instead of seeing that it was because the guy was acting indignant and belligerent by not cooperating. You don't have to be a genius to know that when a cop asks you to produce ID, you should do it. It's not like they stopped this professor out on the street for looking "suspicious" or anything. He was in the house that was reportedly broken into and matched the description. Would he have been claiming it was racism if it had been some OTHER black person breaking into his house and not shown ID? If the cop had said "Well we WERE going to hold him until we could figure out if he belonged there, but he was black and he said we were being racist, so we just left."
