Different Strokes for Different Folks
Osama Bin Laden is dead. There are parties in the streets. Bars and restaurants are all booked up. Parents taking cup cakes to their children’s school.
Seriously?
Question: Am I happy that he is dead?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Am I going have a party?
Answer: No.
Question: Am I going to have a drink?
Answer: Yes. But I don’t need a reason to drink.
I understand that some folks are overjoyed that he is dead. And I guess the only way I can explain the reason for celebration (used in the form of ‘dancing in the streets’) is some folks are just wired that way. I ‘ll lump them in that same group of people who still wears green on St. Paddies day and will pinch you if you don’t.
To me, as Americans we have every reason in the world to celebrate. Not because one man is dead but because of our freedoms, our culture, our life styles.
This one man was the mastermind behind a plot that took a huge toll on the USA. Celebrating because our enemy is dead – just reminds me of what he did on 911.
If we have any reason to celebrate it’s because of our armed forces. Who else in this world has a military that can go into another country, take out FBI’s #1 most wanted, and leave that country – before being detected?
That’s us baby.
When ever I take drink or make a toast – it’s to those guys & gals.
