Some of you know I play the Xbox. Usually, I’m on the 360 kicking ass and taking names on COD4. However, recently I haven’t played much COD4 at all.

I’ve been hooked on Nazi Zombies.

I bought COD:WaW when it came out. Played it. Beat it.

I played the Nazi Zombie mode and found it fun. For a short while. The hackers would ruin any leader board scores. It was cool concept but needed a few tweaks to be what I called fun.

The next two zombie map packs I bought but didn’t play. I watched my kid play them though. I seen the new twists, perks, traps, weapons slowly being added to each map. It seemed that Treytech did a very good job of adding in goodies to spark interest and maintain game balance.

Then came Der Riese. It’s Treytech’s latest zombie map. That’s pretty much all I play right now. It’s awesome. It added just enough spark and interest that it keeps me coming back for more.

One very interesting thing I like is the addition of more interaction between the characters that you play. Dempsey by far is the most colorful and fun to play and listen to. With the addition of transporters, pack a punch machine, new weapons the map built up a huge fun factor.

However, there are three things that would like to see in the new map packs:

Solo Leader Boards. There is no way to play a solo leader board. However, I prefer to see how far I can get on my own. I shouldn’t be forced to play with team mate online.

Hacking. There is nothing worse than going 28 rounds with you friend then seeing someone with ranked higher on a leader board with only 1 kill.

The ability to create defensive barriers. It would be cool to move boxes, gates, desks around to build a make shift barrier to defend. Of course they would eventually break down over times but it would still be cool.

Anyway, check it out.

GameFly & Bonesnap

I love video games. Over the past year I have been creating video game countdown timer gadgets for the Vista sidebar. The gadgets themselves are updated in real time from my server. That way if the release date changes then that will be reflected in the gadget.
One of the game’s I had created a gadget for starting advertising pre-order specials. I then had an idea: “Wouldn’t it be nice if I could provide video game deals to users?”.
I’m always looking for specials on games. I usually stick with used games since they are a fraction of the price of new retail games. After searching the web I’ve come across what I think is a gold mine.
GameFly has a huge weekly sale on all kinds of used video games. I have managed to put together a weekly listing of deals that I provide in RSS.

The deals can be subscribed through the RSS feed or eventually be available through a sidebar gadget.
